Description:

Freckle-face boy needs special home!

Hello ladies & gentlemen,
The name is Jack!  I used to go by "Spot" but because I am em'bark'ing on a new journey in life, I thought I'd get a new name too!  Not much is known about my past except that I am originally from Texas, however I intend on having a wonderful future, now that I am in loving hands!

My foster dad says I am a classic "couch potato," as I like to lounge around.  He also lets me sleep next to him in bed, and he says sometimes my big 85 pounds of twisted steel can take up a lot of room  :)  I also take up a lot of room in his heart, as I am a realyl sweet boy and am working hard on learning manners so I can be your "good boy."

I do possess the typical "bully" stubborness, which is why I would like to go to a home with previous bully experience, if possible.  I get along with cats (sometimes I taunt a little, but am never aggressive) and I LOVE toys...although I find they don't last too long for some reason ;)  I do get along with kids, but my foster dad says I don't quite "know my size" (whatever that means) so really little kids may not be the best fit with me, only because I might knock them down- but never on purpose!  Older, school age kids would be WONDERFUL playmates for me, and I have been kid-tested and kid-approved!!

Because of my youthful energy, I do need to be crated when gone...my curiosity tends to get the best of me.  I don't particularly like the kennel, but we are currently working on that.  My energy is MUCH more controlled when I get to go for a walk (or run!) everyday, though and I hope I end up in a home that has the time to provide that for me!  I am a smart boy, as I have learned sit, stay, shake, and kennel up from my foster home so far.

I cannot lie to you- although you may be looking at my pictures and bio thinking "wow, this must be Superdog, he is perfect!"- I do have one little flaw.  I have a genetic defect that has caused me to be hard of hearing.  I can hear, but only certain pitches.  I do know some sign language and I would love it if my future home would teach me more!  If not, though, we can still get along great, just as long as you understand my circumstance and are willing to stick it out with me!

Hugs & kisses,
Jack

*The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called "cute" as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification!

Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.

*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
