Description:

Oh hi! I'm Venus. I'm an 18 month, female American Bully. True to my breed standards -I am a muscle bound, sweet, obedient, LOYAL, gentle, silly & playful pup, who just wants to love & BE LOVED.

I LOVE meeting people & pets, playing at doggie day care & I wrestle & play nicely with my Doberman & German Pointer foster siblings. And LOVE running zo0Ooomies in the yard. I also live with 2 cats & I'm sweet & gentle with the toddler who visits often.

I love to learn! So far, I know, "SIT" "LAY DOWN" "COME"  And I "WAIT" *for my kibble* I'm currently mastering "PLACE" "STAY" & no jumping on people (learning to stay in   one   place when company arrives will help with that!)

I walk GREAT on leash & have excellent  etiquette when I pass other dogs.  I walk  at least 1 mile daily, & it's been really good for my health & stamina. Initially, I lagged behind, but now that I get consistent exercise, I easily keep pace!

I'm crate trained. And crate on 8 hr work days, without accidents nor evidence of anxiety/crate destruction. Recently my foster family "tested me",  & left me UNcrated, in the house, for about 20 minutes (just me & the cats) I did GREAT!! My foster family prefers to crate their dogs when they're out.

I do NOT crate over night. I sleep (& snore) on a doggy bed next to my people's bed.

I'm not allowed on furniture in my foster home, but it's apparent in my behavior & my Texas profile pics the AWESOME people who helped me get to you, allowed me on furniture; since I've been bounced around,  I'll need your patience when it comes to learning new rules in my new home.

I don’t bark a lot and I’m not destructive. I have a toy box with durable chew toys, soft squeaky toys, balls etc & I LOVE that box & I don't chew anything but dog toys.  I also LOVE to play ball. OMG its my favorite thing!!  I’m working on dropping the ball when my foster mom says "out."  Even when I don’t want to let go, I "drop it" easily when a grown up grabs it  from my mouth (I  don't have experience with children taking balls & toys from my mouth).

I’m looking for a forever family (or person) that wants a loyal, cuddly, love bug of a dog; who will love me forever in return.

*The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called "cute" as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification!

Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.

*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
