Description:

Wanda is an extremely sweet girl who quickly warms up to you. She is
an excellent companion and is definitely a lap dog. At night she is a
cuddler and has to be up against you when sleeping. She loves to be
brushed and to go for walks. She is also good to be bathed and have
her nails clipped. She follows on a leash well close to your side and is
curious about all the things she passes along the route, especially
squirrels and rabbits. She does seem to have a pretty good prey drive, she
darts after squirrels and ducks and although she follows you around like
a shadow in the house; when she sees wildlife outside, they nab her complete focus.

Wanda is house trained and has had no accidents staying with her
foster family. She also gets along well with other dogs. The foster
family she is staying with has 4 resident dogs and she gets along well
with all of them and loves to play too. She has not shown any interest
in toys. She is good with adults and children and wags her tail at
everyone she meets on her daily walks.

She does understand the meaning of “No” if she gets into something
that she should not in the house; however, when she sees a squirrel or
a chipmunk she tends to not listen. Wanda has been the perfect house
guest and has not bothered anything in the house and made herself
quite at home in her foster home from the minute she walked in. She
has a favorite pillow on the living room couch and also curls up in one
of the doggie beds on the floor, but her preference is in your lap. Her
affection and loyalty quickly will win you over.

Wanda rides well in the car. Just say the words “go for a bye-bye ride”
and she jumps right in. She does not jump all over the car and sits
quietly in the passenger seat either looking out the window or resting
her head on the console. She has not tried to crawl into the drivers lap
when driving.

If you are looking for a sweet, loyal, and affectionate companion,
Wanda is the dog for you.

We are a foster based rescue located in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. We do require adoptions to physically take place at our adoption center and do not provide transport of any of our animals. If you are not local to us we encourage you to look at rescues and shelters in your area as many animals are in need across the United States.

*The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called "cute" as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification!

Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.

*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
