Foster Home Update 8/2/23

Things with Eileen are going well, she is such a sweetheart! She didn't want to eat at first, so I had to get some canned food and she will eat that. :) We are working on the house training and she seems to be following our dogs lead on what "outside" means. She is still afraid of the leash but will walk for a little while on it and we will continue to get her used to that. She LOVES attention and follows me everywhere! When I'm cooking I need to be careful where I step because she follows me so closely. So far her favorite thing to do is snuggle on the couch and nap on all the soft blankets. She gets along with our dog (yorkie) and I have not heard her bark once. She is not shy or timid and she is very curious of all the new house sounds, I even catch her watching tv sometimes, also checking out her reflection in the oven door.

*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
