Description:

Ruby aka Havasu is a previous MARS dog whose owner passed away unexpectedly. She is a sweet little thing who can be a bit timid and barky with strangers but once warmed up is a snuggle bug. She has been living in an apartment and has been trained to use potty pads indoors.

She was previously fostered with other small dogs and did well but mostly kept to herself. She has not been exposed much to kids and due to her more timid nature would likely prefer a quieter home. At this time we do not know how she is with cats.

Ruby’s world has been turned upside down and she really needs someone that will give her some time to get her bearings and acclimate to a new life.

* I did test positive for heartworm and will be receiving treatment provided by MARS to live a long healthy life.

*A dog with Heartworms is not directly contagious to other animals. Heartworms are transmitted by an infected mosquito.

*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
