Meet Wanda!

Foster Update:Wanda has been quite a happy,playful addition to our house. She has learned alot about being a dog from the 2 male resident shih tzu dogs ages 2 and almost 3. She plays very well with the younger one and would enjoy a canine pal in her forever home. She has learned to trust her foster mom and is very affectionate. Plently of tail wags and kisses. She likes to snuggle with you after playing and at bedtime.

She has learned to play fetch, and has a pretty good "sit" (for a few seconds). She walks on a leash and will potty outside while leashed. She can be crated 3-4 hrs during the day. With potty training she does well with a consistent routine of supervision,limited freedom, and regular potty breaks. She will not signal you when she needs to go out.

She is more at ease around women than men, due to her past. She tenses up when her foster dad picks her up to hold and pet her for a few minutes. So a female caregiver is a must.

She is a good eater (compaired to her "brothers"), and is food/treat motivated. She has the most beautiful dark brown eyes that can just melt your heart. She isn't too wiggly for a bath, sits nice to be brushed and I can trim her nails without a fuss. She is patiently waiting for her forever family.......will it be you?

*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
