Description:

Sammy is a smart, goofy girl whose greatest joy in life is to snuggle up on the couch with her person. She’ll be your little shadow - moving with you from room to room just be together. She's an A-1 level snuggler and wants to be as close as you'll let her be, but will give you space when you ask for it.

Sammy is easy-peasy to have around - she'll play with you if you're willing but can easily entertain herself as well. She's happy to go for short or long walks (definitely short when it's cold though!) and walks well on a leash. She's happy to play either with you or independently. She has a collection of stuffed animals that are all around her size (or bigger!) She'll greet you and new friends by trotting over to show them off. It's so cute - you just have to smile!

She's crate-trained and will often go in there to hang out just because she wants to. She can be crated while you're gone for work for the day, but she doesn't need to be. Sammy can be reactive towards other dogs and would do best as an only dog.

She does bark at people walking by and some household noises (like the dryer buzzer) so she would probably not do well in an apartment.

*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
