Description:
breeder. FOSTER UPDATE: Wiggy is doing really well. i am totally in love with this little dog. If someone is looking for a very loyal and loving little dog, wiggy will fit the bill. She is a real lap dog. she loves to snuggle next to me on a chair. If she can't snuggle right next to me, she will pick a spot on the floor close by and chew her rubber bone. She especially loves to have a little nest. she loves a bolster type bed. I made a spot on the couch for her with a blanket curled into a circle and she absolutely loves it - as soon as her morning duties are finished, she dashes to her couch nest and spends some time. she just pops her head up from time to time to see what's going on. she is very curious and loves to explore on the deck and in the yard. she occasionally likes to do a little digging. right after i filled up a couple of deck planters with soil, she hopped up into one and started to dig! she enjoys sitting on the deck watching the birds at the feeders. she would probably enjoy chasing a squirrel, if she could just find a way to get at it. She walks nicely on a leash. She rides well in the car. She is not protective of her food. she enjoys being brushed. she understands "no/stop" "come" "in your house" "inside" "outside" we are starting to work on sit and stay. she gets along with other dogs extremely well. she doesn't know how to play very well. she tends to take a toy a run around with it or try to shred it. She does play chase with my other dogs. all three do laps around the house together. She also seems to enjoy running up and down the stairs and watching the scenery through the front door. She really prefers to follow me around and investigate the world. She does well in her crate overnight. She settles into her crate when I leave without any problems. i don't often have to leave for long periods of time, but she has been left crated for up to 6 hours with no problems. She is shy about meeting new people and will be protective of her people when strangers come into the house. she is not aggressive and has shown no inclination to bite. she just barks a warning and then takes her time approaching the new person. Her housetraining is progressing. She doesn't like to be outside in the rain to go potty, but will go if you take her on the leash. she still doesn't come to tell me she has to go, but it's really not that hard to tell when she has to go. She has never gone potty in her crate. if she is in her pen, she barks with a particular bark. If she is free in the house, she starts to do this routine where she runs then sniffs, runs and sniffs. If she is free, she always heads for the same spot in the house. since I last wrote she has only had 2 more accidents. If you would like to adopt Wiggy, please fill out one of our on-line applications by clicking on the link below. Thank you! *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person! If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called "cute" as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.
*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
