Description:
Meet Sally!

Sally came in from an animal control facility down south and she is looking forward to finding a loving forever home.

Sally is just a wonderful girl! She is incredibly affectionate and social, this girl will do anything for some rubs and love. Happiness is reflected in her eyes when she is around people, and her enthusiasm is contagious! She is dog social and would work well in any family setting.

Some notes from her foster mom:

She loves to sleep by you — whether next to you on the couch, in your lap or next to you in bed, she has this happy little “snore” she does that just to convey her contentment. It is so adorable.

When I tell her kennel (when I’m leaving for work) she walks into the room, gives you an over the shoulder look that says “are you sure, really sure, you want me to go in there?” Then she walks right into the kennel.

She’s gotten really good on walks — she is a no-nonsense walker, doesn’t stop often to smell (unless it’s really tempting) she walks like she’s on a mission. Definitely not a “Sunday walker” — although if I slow up she does walk slower, but looks over her shoulder as if to say “come on now, we need to get there”.

She and Sydney play tug of war constantly — that’s the only kind of toy I’ve purchased lately because everything turns into a tug of war. They roll all over each other. When they get tired and lay down, Sally will come up and “kiss” Sydney on the corner of the mouth. They really don’t lay by each other; they’re at opposite ends of the room. When I get home — when Sally’s Kennel was in the kitchen - I’d let her out first and pet her a few minutes, then I’d say “let’s go get Sydney” and she’d take off running to get her. She’d stop half way there and come back as if to say “aren’t you coming, move faster”.

Whenever you come home you can hear the thump of Sally’s tail as soon as the door opens. When I don’t come home straight from work I’ll have my mother or sister come over and let the girls out — both have commented on Sally’s tail. She is always SOOOOO happy to see you — even when she just comes in from outside.

Whenever we see children her whole body wags — she goes up very nicely to the children and sits down. Unfortunately if they don’t pet her she does still jump up, but never to hurt them only to give them kisses. She definitely loves to give kisses — to everybody and anybody.

Everyone who meets her really does comment on what a nice dog she is — she friendly and lets you know it, the whole body wags with the tail and she definitely has a smile face.

*The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called "cute" as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification!

Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.

*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
