Description:
Meet Sadie
*House trained and Crate Trained *Walks well on a leash *Extremely quiet *Loves attention Sadie is very sweet, loving, extremely quiet, housetrained, crate trained, walks well on a leash, and will nudge your hand to remind you that she is there and you should be petting her. Outside she likes to roll in the grass and lounge on the patio to soak up some rays, inside she will find a soft spot on the couch and watch you go about your daily activities. When you first get home Sadie will not do anything until she gets her hug from you.. She stands up, turns around, cuddles into your legs and waits for her hug.. Once she gets it, she's as happy as can be. She loves peanut butter Kongs, longs walks, heck she may even be good running partner - even with her short stubby legs! She's got silky soft hair too. Even with all her good traits Sadie is not without her faults. Blankets and food is something that she feels needs to be guarded (most of this behavior is aimed at the other dogs in the house). Also the further down her back you pet, the stiffer her body gets, almost like she’s expecting to get beat. She has made GREAT progress, she no longer resource guards the couch, chairs, random things on the floor and being pet along her back doesn’t bother her as much anymore, heck she even got a bath the other day and did great, but only love, guidance, patients, and time are going to heal the wounds of her past. She is going to need a family who understands this behavior and will be committed to helping her. Due to their unpredictable nature, a home without children is required for her. Also a home with no other pets is required as this is the cause of 99% of her “undesired” behaviors. Sadie realizes that there are many other dogs that need homes, some with issues, some without, but she knows there is a family out there that will show her there is no need to guard her blanket because she will always have one, no need to guard her food cause she will never go hungry, no need to worry about getting hit ever again... If you think you are the family for her, she would love to meet you.. She wants a home that is loving, understanding, and will shower her with treats and attention? Is that you? The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person! If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called "cute" as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.
*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
