Description:

Malia is a sweet girl who loves to snuggle. You just can't help but wrap your arms around her and give her hugs and kisses. She knows when to settle down and when to play where her favorite toys are the furry squeaky animals. Once outside, she is always exploring and when she spies a squirrel, she tries everything to catch it. She loves going for walks and is very good on the leash. She does jump up on new people but it isn't the type of jump that knocks you down, it is more of a "lemme get to your face to give you a kiss!" kind of jump.

Malia is very good with other dogs ranging from a Beagle/Basset mix to a 110 lb old lab. There is no food aggression during breakfast or dinner that we noticed but when she is gnawing on a bone, the "do not disturb" sign is up. We don't know how she would be with small children but does very well with older kids. We have been working with her on commands like sit and it is coming along well. Obedience training would do wonders for her.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
