Taffy is a love bug and is very easy-going. She enjoys attention and seeks companionship from other dogs. She is a little reserved when she meets strangers but she doesn't have any trouble bonding with people once she knows them. She sleeps and lies quietly by us when we are working or watching TV. When she is in the yard, she likes to chase squirrels with our dogs but she is never too far away from us. She also enjoys long walks.

Taffy doesn't mind getting a bath if we use water bucket to rinse her instead of hand-held shower. She is so easy to bathe due to her terrier type hair. She does not shed!!

She is very comfortable in a home environment and is house-broken. She likes chew toys but she isn't a big chewer. She is not a barker either. She is doing well with leash training and recall. She is very food-motivated.

Taffy gets startled by sudden movements so she will do better in a quiet environment without small children. She has moderate energy level. A few good walks/runs a day will keep her happy.

*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
