Description:
Meet Wonderful Sally!

Sally is a very sweet and gentle dog with big brown eyes. She is adjusting very well to being in her new foster home where she lives with a resident mini dachshund.

Sally is an absolute cuddle bug and loves it when she gets attention. Her favorite thing in the world is to be pet, especially those awesome belly rubs. Sometimes if you ignore her, she'll walk up and nuzzle her head under your arm. Take the hint person!!

When she is not getting attention, she can be found cuddled up on the floor with a blanket, chewing a rawhide, or napping in her kennel. She loves her rawhides, and she does a good job sharing them with our dachshund. She isn't protective of them with people either. I can take the dog bone away from her and she won't get upset. When it comes to feeding, Sally is a slow eater, so I have to make sure the dachshund doesn't try to eat it for her. Sally is learning basic obedience commands. She does know the sit, down, and no.

She is VERY well-behaved. She never chews anything other than her bones. She is very quiet and rarely barks. She stays off of furniture for the most part. Sometimes she'll get excited and want to cuddle.... But she'll quickly jump down if told to. She is completely housebroken and crate-trained. She will go to the door to be let out. She loves to be in her kennel, it is clearly a comforting place for her. When I am getting ready to leave, all I say is "kennel" or simply point to the kennel and she will jump in without complaint. She also rides very well in the car. She'll typically lie down in the back or look out the window. Sally also does great with grooming. She has allowed me to brush her teeth and groom her with no problems. I brush her regularly and she just loves it. Sally also loves going on walks and does well on a leash. Sometimes she'll pull at first from the excitement, but only for a minute. She'll often walk ahead a couple feet but will not pull.

Overall, Sally is a very mellow and well-behaved. She would be great for anyone looking for a quiet, laid-back, easy to please dog. She is so soft, so sweet, and just wants to be loved.

*The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called "cute" as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification!

Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.

*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
