Description:

Handsome Garrett is doing well in his foster home. He is working on obedience commands and is doing well. He is food-motivated, so he responds well to treats. He has learned to sit if he wants to be pet, go outside, or eat. He is learning to play fetch, and loves tennis balls.

Garrett loves bones and toys that he can chew on. he doesn't chew things that he shouldn't have, but he will steal a shoe and walk around with it. If you ask him about the shoe he will look at you like he has absolutely no idea how the shoe got in his mouth!

Garrett is good on the leash, but he is protective. He responds well to gentle corrections when told to heal while passing another person or another dog. He loves his walks and needs the exercise to help him unwind.

Garrett will need a family that will show Garrett who the pack leader is, and when he knows, he is a very happy and relaxed dog.

He is a very friendly dog that deserves a great home.

*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
