Meet Iris!

SPUNK! That is the one word that would describe me! I am a playful fun-loving little girl that has a lot of energy! I LOVE to play with other dogs and really really hope there will be another playful companion in my forever home -it doesn't matter what size dog they are as long as they don't mind me pouncing on them and trying to chase and play with them.

If you don't have a dog, know that I will also try to play with the cats in the home. I actually have a hard time leaving them alone...they are so much fun to pounce on!

I love being around people too. In fact, don't expect to leave me alone in a room full of toys. They are just not fun unless I have a person to play with.

I LOVE racing around the backyard. I'm actually really quick for such a petite girl. My favorite thing to do is play in WATER! If there is a hose or sprinkler on... the game is ON! I can also substitute my water dish which is a lot of fun to splash around in.

I don't care for the crate and I will make a fuss when you stick me in there. However, I will quiet down and sleep soundly when I realize you won't take me out again. Guess it's just one of those "rules" I'm going to have to learn to follow.

My foster mom is trying to get updated pictures of me.... but I just ran through the sprinkler and we'll need to wait awhile for my hair to dry out! I look so much tinier when my hair isn't all fluffy and adorable!

At this stage of life, Iris cannot be left alone for more than 3-4 hours at a time even if in a home with another dog. She will need to be let outside every 2-3 hours to relieve herself. Iris needs lots of socialization and human contact. She will need adopters who are home most of the time or have a plan in place for her care.

*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
