Description:

Sampson and his sister Delilah had a rough life. Their first five years were full of neglect and disappointment. Fortunately for them, happily ever after is right around the corner!

His foster mom says this about our loving boy:

Sampson loves his people and gets along well with other dogs. He really is at the perfect age, not puppy hyper but still loves to play. He doesn't get into trouble or eat what’s not his. He is house trained and no crate needed. He’ll sleep in, if you do. He likes to take naps while you watch a movie. He doesn't try to get on the couch or your bed; he sleeps in his own. He loves to have his ears and belly rubbed!

He has no food or bone issues. He knows the basic commands and is very treat motivated.

Sampson loves to play fetch in the yard. He is very good about dropping the toy so you can throw it again and again. He enjoys going for walks. Sampson does pull from time to time but we are working on that. He doesn't seem to mind when I bath him. But he’s not so thrilled with the nail trimming.

Sampson had a real thin coat that has filled in nicely and there were a few bare patches that now have some fuzz coming in. I don’t know that Sampson had many house guests in his life before MARS. He does get excited and his bark is very intimidating. He’s now getting the hang of it: a visitor with little to no barking means treats and he loves his treats! The last visitor he met, he barked once and was laying belly up within minutes waiting to be pet (and given more treats)!

He is most handsome and lovable!

*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
