In the short time we've had her she's been great. She is a very sweet dog and likes attention but will leave you alone if you ignore her or tell her "off" and gently push her away.

We went to the dog park yesterday and she had a blast with some of the dogs and had to greet every person there.

I am going to start her in obedience class later this week, but so far she hasnt been the type of dog that needs a lot of redirection, she actually has been pretty calm unless you get her going playing, but im sure she will benefit from learning some basic commands.

She is gentle with her mouth when she is playing.

She is good in her kennel at night

She tried to test the alpha role with my dog a few times but seems to have gotten the point now that its not her:)

Meet the wonderful and perfect Takoda. She was saved from euthanasia and will be coming to MARS to find a new home. She is such a doll and everyone loves her to pieces. She is never looking for trouble and if another dog tries to "start something" she will submit and move away. She has not been around cats but we believe that she would do well if properly introduced. Meet her for yourself and you will realize you have found your new companion.

*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
