Help! Karena's foster mom was hurt by a horse and is no longer able to care for her. Karena needs a new foster asap who can keep her safe while we work to find her forever home!! Karena is a young and sweet German Shepherd who likely spent the beginning of her tied to a dog house and ignored for the greater part of the day. She is super sweet, friendly and very excited to finally be a pet. She loves playing with her foster family and her big foster brother a male german shepherd. They love to play all day long! Karena enjoys learning to play like other dogs and chasing the stray outdoor kitties. Though she ignored cats in her shelter cat test, we are afraid she would chase any moving cats inside her home so we are looking for a cat free home just to be safe. This girl is great with people and is learning how to walk on a leash. Her personality tends to be goofy with a side of naïve. She loves to meet other dogs but since she doesn’t really know “how” to do it, her idea of a greeting is to stick her nose completely under their tummy and life them WAY over her head so she gets the best smell J She needs a physical fenced yard as she LOVES the game of chase and will chase rabbits, squirrels etc. She would also love a big goofy foster sibling to play with and hang out so a home with another dog would be ideal. Karena is very lucky to have an amazing foster family but sadly, the horse accident has required us to move her foster human can heal. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption.
