Description:

Maddie is a 6 year old min pin girl. She was adopted and is coming back to rescue because once the family had kids she started having accidents in the house and they said they needed to surrender her back to the rescue. This girl would love a home of her own where she can snuggle and be with her person. She is good with cats and dogs.

Update-Our Maddie Pie

It is hard to put into words how wonderful Maddie is.  She has been living at my house with my three resident dogs (2 labs and 1 min pin) and gets along great with all of them.  She would also be completely content being the only pet the home since she is not much of a “player.”  She is very relaxed and laid back.  Maddie is so easy to take care of all she wants is to stay warm and snuggle with you.  She is a little timid with my husband after a month but she is slowly warming up to him.  He can hold her, she just doesn’t relax the same way she does with me.  She is very food motivated so he bribes her with treats and gives her kisses!   Maddie is content sitting next to me under a blanket all hours of the day and sleeping under the covers with me at night.  She is extremely sweet and gentle.

Min pins are normally pretty feisty but she really isn’t.  I haven’t seen her snarl or snap once.  She has started to get more vocal as she gets used to my house and now barks (squeaks) when I come home or when the doorbell rings.  She is absolutely tiny and beautiful.  She has the most perfect face and I could pet her for hours because she feels like velvet.  She was extremely skinny when she came to us but we have been spoiling her and I think she has put on a little bit of weight.

The story from the family that surrendered her is that she started to have accidents in the house because they had children.  Aside from a few accidents in the very beginning while she was getting her bearings, she has been absolutely perfect with potty training.  Considering she is so tiny, I thought getting her outside was going to be a nightmare but it hasn’t been at all.  She runs out, does her business, and runs back inside.  We think she may hold the record for the fastest potty breaks!

Maddie would be a perfect companion for someone who is home a lot and just wants a little girl to hang out with.  She is too tiny for any heavy walking or playing but is perfect for someone with a less active lifestyle.  She loves attention and cuddling so her person is very important to her.  She gets lonely by herself but doesn’t want anything from you other than your presence.

*The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called "cute" as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification!

Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.

*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
