Description:
*Housebroke My name is Kahia (pronounced Ki-ah), and I am about as beautiful as they come. I am very excited to find my furever home, but in the meantime having been chilling with my fosters, who might be falling in love with me, so you better act fast. I am their only child (human or otherwise) at this time, so it can get lonely during the day. The quite time in my crate is nice though and although I hesitate to go in, once I’m in there I settle in nicely, both day and night.
Once they get home, I am ready to go! Whether that be chasing my tennis ball, chewing on my bones, running around the house, relaxing a little more on the floor, or trying to jump up onto the couch. My Foster Mom doesn’t like that much though and is trying to break me of that habit. Maybe you’ll be a little nicer and will snuggle up with me on the couch, giving me belly rubs. I do love my belly rubs, but don’t even think you can fool me into thinking a brush is the same as belly rubs. Being brushed out is not my favorite, no matter how much I need it, and I will let you know when I’ve had enough. I love being outside, exploring the yard, walking through the neighborhood, running through the woods or making friends at the dog park. Car rides aren’t half bad either. Squirrels might be my absolutely favorite, and I do try to catch them. My fosters won’t let me though, and say I walk pretty well otherwise. Because I love chasing little things, I would bet I would be quite tempted to chase a cat as well, but haven’t had the opportunity to meet one yet. I like to jump up sometimes too, but we are going to work on that so I don’t knock over any little humans.
I am housetrained, but had one accident. It was totally my foster mom’s fault as she didn’t let me out long enough to finish my business. I know how to sit nicely and my fosters will be taking me to obedience classes and hopefully I’ll learn a few more tricks. Can you see why they love me? I can’t wait to go home with you soon! Warm and wet puppy kisses, Kahia
*The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person! If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called "cute" as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.
*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
