Description:

Hi, my name is Princess, but I am also known as Queenie!

I am a quiet girl. I've never barked in front of my foster mom and she wonders if I even know how. I like kids and seem to get along fine around other animals, however, I am the only pet in my fosters home right now. My small human fosters are 3 and 6. The 6-year old takes me on walks, cuddles me, and gives me lots of pets. We also enjoy long talks. I know I am safe with her because she is so gentle. The smaller human is a bit of a bundle of energy. She can make me nervous at times when she flies by at the speed of light, or has a "Threenager" moment, but I know she is still learning so I am very patient with her and she is getting good at petting me now too.

I love to go on walks and when I see my leash come out, I do a little dance, sometimes I get so excited that I even stand on my hind legs for my dancing. I walk really well on a leash and can keep a good pace. My foster mom says I walk fast since she has long legs and is a fast walker, but I have no trouble keeping up. So, don't let my short legs fool you.

I've had some trouble with my teeth and my eye site is poor, but no worries, this doesn't slow me down. I can be unsure of slick floors and steps at first, but once I know my way around, I am confident. I love soft food and am a good eater. I have been eating canned dog food, but also really enjoy when my foster mom cooks something special and healthy for me.

Right now I am sleeping in a crate at night. I would prefer not to be, but if you want to crate me while you're away or at night, I will do that for you without a fuss. If you'd like to cuddle in bed though, I'm your girl!! I love to cuddle, any time of the day, with a few good belly rubs mixed in. Definitely don't forget those belly rubs! :)

I am very loving, loyal, and sweet. I want to make my new family very happy and I can't wait to finally feel safe and sound in my forever home!

*The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called "cute" as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification!

Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.

*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
