Franni was walked over the rainbow bridge mid afternoon Oct 17. The gifts we believe awaited her there ... restored eyesight, returned youthfullness , and the boundless joy of freedom from the aches and pains and increasing blindness caused by previous neglect. It's all good on the other side of the bridge, but even so don't let me get my hands on the person/people who neglected Franni, the people who's job it was to love and care for her who didn't do it... because I am not a forgiving person. Keep an eye out for me Franni, it should be a while, but I'll be showing up at the bridge to claim you when it's my time. Love Foster Mom ~ Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge When an animal dies , he or she goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food and water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they miss someone very special to them; who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. The bright eyes are intent; the eager body quivers. Suddenly they begin to break away from the group, flying over the green grass, legs carrying them faster and faster. YOU have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your friend, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. THEN WE CROSS THE RAINBOW BRIDGE TOGETHER... Author Unknown Original believed to have been modified Meet Franni, Franni is a Senior Sweetheart who loves to nap and be petted! She’s looking for a home situation that’s calm, in which she can be mobile with a minimum of stairs/steps to navigate. Franni chooses soft rugs, and dog beds to situate her self on. She is pleasant to cats, and gets along with the resident dog in her temporary location. Sweet Franni has been mis-loved by being over fed she needs to lose a minimum of 5 pounds per the vets recommendation. Franni is looking not only for a home to love her but to love her with practicality by feeding her properly and providing her with exercise and interaction. A cat who has claws and doesn't enjoy dogs, or a non-senior savvy dog could be a determent to Franni’s happiness and well being. Franni’s eye care was neglected in her former living situation. She lives with a ‘dry eye’ condition common to small breeds which wasn't tended to with a simple saline eye drop regime thus she has some permanent, and some temporary scaring on her corneas. The Vet clinic has guaranteed that our current medication régime will continue to improve her left eye vision, and has already restored the quality of her vision in her right eye. The corneas are scarred from lack of lubrication. Franni will need daily applications of a gel lubricant called Cyclosporen to her eyes twice a day for life. At the vet she’s seen it is a cost of under $50.00 per month without a rescue discount. Her anti biotic course will be completed in one 30 day cycle. We don’t know when Fudge crossed the Rainbow bridge but we know it wasn’t peaceful and we know it wasn’t how it was supposed to happen. Fudge was a high energy, loving, and ever so playful companion. He was magical in the way he could get any dog, mean or friendly, to play with him. Adopted in May 2010 at a year and four months of age, I was so happy to bring home a friend that needed a safe, loving home. I knew this was a special bond from the moment he jumped in the car. For eight great months we trained, played and fetched like none other. He ran so fast and played so hard that he even got an ornery old dominate golden retriever to play nice, and an aging beagle to play like a puppy. A true testament to his disposition and energy! On January 9th, 2011 while on his tie out for just a few moments to do his doggie business, he charged at a deer walking through the yard and snapped the tie out. Off he chased the deer and he was never seen again. On April 5th, 2011 Fudge’s body was recovered by MN DOT just a few miles from where he was lost. Torn up and shot, still with his tags and collar on him. Some cruel person killed him and left him on the side of a freeway! Who would do such an awful thing to my best friend?!? My heart is broken but at least I now know you are running free and still loved in my heart always! -Matt Click a letter to find an animal or view all.
